Atul Mongia
Atul Mongia has been associated with Hindi cinema for a period of over two decades, and has established himself as one of the industry’s most acclaimed casting directors, with films like Shor in the City (2010), Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), Shanghai (2012), Queen (2013), Lootera (2013) and Titli (2014). His strength also lies in training actors and helping them deliver more truthful performances.
He has trained several contemporary Indian actors including Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Sushmita Sen, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani and Deepak Dobriyal to name a few.
Hailed as a change-maker for his contribution to the field of casting and performance, Atul is the pioneer of acting workshops in the Indian film industry, starting with his workshop for the film LSD in 2009. He has since conducted workshops for over 40 films while working with prominent film directors including Zoya Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Sharat Kataria, Navdeep Singh, Kanu Behl and Reema Kagti.
Atul has been training actors since 2000. At the age of 21, he taught acting at the accomplished Imago acting school in Delhi, founded by theatre veteran Barry John. He has come a long way since that time, holding many public workshops for acting aspirants all over the country.
Atul Mongia is also a writer-director. His debut show Mai (2022), produced by Clean Slate Filmz, received critical acclaim and spent four weeks at number one on Netflix India. His recent short film Awake, produced by Vikramaditya Motwane, was screened at the New York International Film Festival and the prestigious ‘We Are One Global Digital Film Festival’ by Tribeca Enterprises. He was also an Associate Director on Ragini MMS (2011), Lootera (2013) and Titli (Cannes, 2014).
